Dear Competitors,
There will be four blocks of eight players (see attached spreadsheet) playing single 13 point games. The top four from each block will proceed to the best-of-3 Championship Knock-out and the bottom four to the Plate Event.
Block play will take place on Wednesday, starting at 1500, and Thursday, starting at 0900. Play will continue under lights until 2300 if necessary. There will be no time limits on Wednesday but they may be introduced on Thursday if necessary. If there is tie for 4th place in any block, it will be decided by a play-off. The nature of the play-off will be at the Director’s discretion and will depend on the number of players involved and the time available.
THE PLATE EVENT
The Plate will consist of two blocks of eight players playing single 13 point games during Friday and on Saturday morning, The top two in each Plate block will proceed to best-of-3 semi-finals and finals on Saturday afternoon.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
All matches are best-of-3 13 point games. Round 1 will be played on Friday morning and the quarter-finals on Friday evening. The semi-finals will be played from 0900-1200 on Saturday morning and the final will be played at 1900 on Saturday evening. Time limits will only be used if necessary.
The KO first round losers will be able to enter the Bowl event and play single 19 point games to decide places 9th to 16th on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. The Bowl final will be best-of-3 13 point games.
The KO quarter-final losers will be able to enter the Shield event and play single 19 point games to decide places 5th to 8th on Saturday afternoon. The Shield final will be best-of-3 13 point games.
The KO semi-final losers will play a 3/4th play-off at 1800 (or earlier if possible) on Saturday evening, either a single 19 point game or best-of-3 depending on time available.
There are three courts and almost all play will be double-banked. The program is set out in more detail in the attached spreadsheet.
Please be ready to play as soon as the Manager allocates a court for your game. We have a busy schedule to complete with the intention of giving everyone plenty of play.
