Welcome to 1st GC Portugal Open Championship (11 to 13 September 2015). The Bela Romao Croquet Country Club in the Algarve (http://www.belaromaocroquet.com) is pleased to announce the First Portugal Golf Croquet Open Championship. Play will be over 3 days from 11th to 13th September 2015 on the full-size grass court at Bela Romao.
Double-banking will be used; it is hoped to use Dawson balls. There are 16 places; a small number of places will be reserved for players from Portugal, Spain and Norway.
Manager: to be announced; Tournament Referee: Martin French. Entry fee: Euros 30.00. Entries received by the Allocation Date –31st March 2015– will be considered in order of ranking. If not already full, entries received after the allocation date will be accepted in order of receipt. Please indicate if you wish to be put on the waiting list if initially unsuccessful.

Portugal Open Tournament Golf Croquet (September 11/12/13 2015; Algarve Portugal). The tournament is organised by the Portuguese Croquet Federation at the first Croquet Club in Portugal, in Bela Romao Croquet Country Club (www.belaromaocroquet.com; email: belaromaocroquet.com).
• Participation limited to a maximum of 16 players; 4 blocks of four, followed by a knock-out stage and Plate

NOTES
Average daytime temperature in the first half of September is around 23 during the day and 17 at night with high probability of sunshine. Bela Romao Croquet Country Club is situated 20 Km/ 20 minutes from Faro Airport, overlooking the Ria Formosa and the Atlantic Ocean and Cerro de San Miguel Mountain as backdrop. Nearby is the lovely and ancient town of Tavira and the Fishing Village of Fuzeta and Olhão and Lisbon and Seville are but 2 hours away. Participants are welcome to spend additional days in The Algarve or elsewhere before or after the tournament weekend. Lita and Sarah and the staff at Bela Romao Croquet Country Club will be happy to provide assistance and book your accommodation.
