6th GC Baltic Open Tournament 2017

Announcement
The Tournament is organised by the Latvian Croquet Federation (www.latvijaskrokets.lv), it takes place on the 2 lawns at the RATNIEKI country hotel (www.ratnieki.lv) near the town Sigulda. Baltic Open is part of the European Masters in 2017. More information on European Masters, including the calendar of events at http://johnswabey.wix.com/european-masters. The first player from each participating country in the European Masters to apply before July 1st has a priority access to the Baltic Open tournament.
Participation
Participation is limited to a maximum of 16 players. Four blocks of four, followed by a knock-out stage and Plate. Double banking, apart from semi-finals and finals. Dawson 2000 International balls.

Deadline for entries – August 1st
Accomodation – RATNIEKI country hotel (2-plus stars) next to the lawns. Other higher class hotels available within 10 km distance.
Fees and prices per player
Entry fee - 30 EUR.
Optional package 1: 125 EUR* (includes entry fee, 2 nights at the RATNIEKI hotel, all meals and soft drinks from Friday evening till Sunday afternoon).
Optional package 2: 195 EUR* (includes Package 1 plus a private transfer from Riga Airport to Ratnieki (75 km) and back to the Airport).
* - third party prices are tentative - to be confirmed in June.

General
Average daytime temperature in the first half of September is around 17-18 degrees, there is a high probability of sunshine. RATNIEKI is situated 75 km from the Riga International Airport, within the National Park of the valley of river Gauja. Nearby Sigulda town (www.sigulda.lv) is one of the top tourist attractions, famous for its beautiful scenery and old castles. Participants are welcome to spend additional days in Riga or elsewhere in Latvia before or after the tournament weekend. We will be happy to provide assistance.
