THE EVENT
The 9th German Open Golf Croquet Tournament will be held at the Rissen Tennis Hockey Krocket Sportsclub in Hamburg, Germany from Saturday 29. to Sunday 30. August 2015. The Club will be open to competitors for practice on Thursday and Friday before the tournament starts. Holder is Stephen Mulliner/England.
DETAILS
Entries will be limited to 12 players. We try to get in as many as possible players from abroad; a colourful field of players from many nations is part of the tradition of German Open tournaments. The field will be completed with top German players. Matches will be single 13 point games in the preliminary stage and best-of-three 13 point games in final and semifinal. Those who do not qualify for the knock-out stage will be able to enter a Plate event. All losers will be able to continue playing so that a full final ranking of positions will be produced. The format is subject to adjustments.Two full size croquet lawns will be used double banked.
EUROPEAN MASTERS
The 9th German Open GC is part of the European Masters. One player from each participating country in the European Masters to apply within two weeks from now has priority acces to our tournament. Countries that have already chosen to participate include Switzerland, Belgium, Latvia, Germany, Portugal, Czech Republic, Spain and still deciding maybe Italy, Austria, Scotland and yet more. SOCIAL
A special stress will be put on the social side of the event. For this years outside-court-programme every player is asked to bring one cheese and one wine speciality from his home town or country. Accompanying persons are welcome to take part in the outsine-court-programme.
ACCOMODATION
Hotel and private accomodation with club members are available. For details contact the manager.
TROPHY & FEE
Fee for participation include all transports, one lunch, one dinner and courtside drinks. The fees are to be adjusted to the expenses and will be between EUR 80,00 and EUR 100,00. There will be prizes for all participants.
