La World Croquet Federation convoca el XIII Campeonato del Mundo de Croquet, que se disputará en Inglaterra del 27 de julio al 4 de agosto de 2019.

La Federación Mundial de Croquet (WCF) acaba de convocar la décimotercera edición del Campeonato del Mundo de Croquet GC individual, que se disputará del 27 de julio al 4 de agosto de 2019 en el Sussex County Croquet Club (Southwick, Inglaterra), con capacidad para 80 jugadores. La Federación Española de Croquet (FEC) cuenta con dos plazas de asignación directa (Membership Places) y eventualmente alguna más (sin que en el momento actual pueda precisarse cuantas) de las incluidas bajo las denominaciones de Ranking Places y Wild Cards.
Los jugadores federados españoles en activo que deseen pre-inscribirse en este XIII Campeonato del Mundo de Croquet GC, en cualquiera de sus tres categorías (Membership Places, Ranking Places, Wild Cards), deberán manifestarlo por escrito al Director Deportivo Nacional (D. Ignacio Gutiérrez-Trueba), mediante el correspondiente correo electrónico (igtrueba@icadiz.net), antes del 10 de noviembre de 2018. En todos los casos, el criterio de selección de los jugadores pre-inscritos, para cualquiera de las tres categorías mencionadas, será el puesto que cada uno de ellos ocupe en el ranking internacional de croquet GC (International GC Grading System) a las 24:00 horas de ese mismo día. A continuación se reseñan el calendario y las características oficiales de este Campeonato.
13th Golf Croquet World Championship
2019
The 13th Golf Croquet World Championship 2019 (GCWC) will be held at the Sussex County Croquet Club in West Sussex, England (and other venues) from Saturday, 27 July to Sunday, 4 August 2019 in accordance with version 4.9 of the Event Regulations and version 8.9 of the Sports Regulations. The Event Capacity will be 80.
A Qualifying Tournament will be held from Monday, 22 July to Thursday, 25 July 2019 from which the four highest-placed finishers will gain places in the GCWC. Details of the venue and how to enter the Qualifying Tournament will be made available in due course.
TIMETABLE
RESPONSE DATE (Sunday, 2 December 2018). This is the date by which all WCF Members are requested to inform the WCF Management Committee via the Secretary-General at secretary@worldcroquet.org:
(a) if they wish to take up their Membership Place or Places;
(b) the names of their eligible players who want a Ranking or Membership Place in the event; and
(c) the names of any of those players they wish to nominate for a Wild Card Place.
Full Members are entitled to two Membership Places. Associate Members are entitled to one Membership Place. Individual players affiliated to a WCF Member and wish to gain a place in the GCWC must announce their availability via their WCF Member. However, if a player is not affiliated to a WCF Member and is not eligible to represent any WCF Member, they should contact the Secretary-General directly. The other timetable dates set out in appendix 2 paragraph 3 of the Sports Regulations are:
ALLOCATION DATE (Sunday, 16 December 2018). The highest grades achieved by players in the year ending on this date will be used to determine the initial allocation of Ranking Places).
ANNOUNCEMENT DATE (Sunday, 30 December 2018). The names of the players who have been awarded Ranking Places and Wild Card Places will be announced on this date.
CLOSING DATE (Sunday, 27 January 2019). This is the last date on which Members can nominate players for Membership Places requested on or before the Response Date. Any Membership Place which has been requested by a WCF Member but not taken up by the Closing Date will become an additional Ranking Place.
QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT ALLOCATION DATE (Sunday, 26 May 2019). Entries for the Qualifying Tournament received by this date will be accepted in ranking position order as shown in the Qualifier Ranking List which is itself calculated as at the end of the QTAD. If the Qualifying Tournament is over-subscribed on this date, unsuccessful entrants will be placed on a Qualifying Tournament Reserve List, also in ranking position order.
CUT-OFF DATE (Sunday, 9 June 2019). This is the date after which any returned Ranking Places or Wild Card Places are filled by creating extra Qualifying Places.
QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT CLOSING DATE (Sunday, 7 July 2019). This is the last date on which entries can be received to fill any vacancies in the Qualifying Tournament. It is also the last date on which any returned Membership Places can be replaced by a player from the same country.
